Bengt-Erik Löfgren – Technical Advisor/Trainer (Biomass Combustion)

Bengt-Erik Löfgren first started working within the field of biomass combustion in Sweden in the 1970’s. In 1984, realising that there was a growing need for an increase in technical understanding within the heating industry, he formed the consultancy company, ÄFAB, and began helping to raise awareness, particularly about wood combustion. 31 years later, ÄFAB has become one of the country’s foremost, independent biomass advisory and combustion test facilities and a highly regarded source of expert knowledge.
Bengt-Erik is often asked to attend International Conferences to speak on the subject of Biomass Combustion and in recent years he has been a significant influence in the creation of IRETI (International Renewable Energy & Technology Institute) to assist with the required knowledge transfer of renewable energy heating systems between Europe and the USA.  The IRETI institute is now fully operational within the USA and this has culminated in the soon to be opened Swedish IRETI institute, which is to be based in Lidkoping, the home town of Bengt-Erik’s company ÄFAB, in Western Sweden.
Bio-Nordic Ltd has developed strong ties with ÄFAB over the years, not least because our Commerce Director, Stephen, was employed as Bengt-Erik’s assistant prior to the formation of Bio-Nordic Ltd. We are now both delighted and honoured to have Bengt-Erik on board offering the very same education, training, testing and development services to our clients and colleagues in the UK via a close working partnership with ÄFAB.
